Description
Few bar stools manage to feel both sculptural and effortless the way the Jamaica stool does.
Pieces like these tend to draw attention in the gallery because they sit right at the intersection of design pedigree and everyday function. Visitors regularly discover them while exploring the rotating floor at our Miramar showroom, where modern seating pieces like this often become instant kitchen or bar upgrades.
Designed by Spanish designer Pepe Cortés for Amat, the Jamaica stool has become a recognized icon of European contemporary furniture. Its fluid aluminum saddle seat creates a surprisingly comfortable perch while maintaining a striking minimalist profile. The polished metal seat reflects light beautifully, while the slender chrome legs and circular footrest keep the structure visually light and architectural.
The silhouette works particularly well in modern kitchens, loft spaces, and contemporary bar environments where clean lines and metallic finishes complement stone countertops, stainless appliances, or concrete surfaces. The 30-inch seat height makes them ideal for standard bar-height counters.
This set includes four stools, each stamped “Jamaica Stool – Design by Pepe Cortés for Amat – Made in Spain,” confirming their original production. Condition is very good overall with light surface wear and minor marks consistent with normal use on polished aluminum seating surfaces.
A rare opportunity to acquire a full matching set of these iconic Spanish modern bar stools.
