Description

A substantial statement piece with enough color and scale to anchor a dining room, living area, office or entry wall.

The composition layers sweeping feather forms with handprints, stars, organic shapes and pale skull-like imagery in coral, burgundy, blue, green, gold and earthy brown. The dense imagery is balanced by wide brown matting and a warm distressed wood frame, giving the piece an established, collected look without becoming visually heavy.

The lower-right signature reads David Wiley. Research identifies a California painter of that name whose documented work includes colorful mixed media on paper; however, DCG has not independently authenticated the artist or established the exact medium or original title. It is therefore represented conservatively as signed artwork on paper rather than as a documented original or numbered edition.

Good vintage display condition. The artwork presents well under glazing. The frame and inner liner show visible age-related rubbing, chips and finish wear in addition to the frame’s intentional distressed character; see detail photographs.
